This may be one I re-visit again and again... But it's been in my life a lot lately!!
Why do we lose incredible people before what we feel is there time?
Why are families left motherless?
Why do bad things happen to good people?
Why can't we be appreciated without being asked?
Why do people take advantage of situations/others?
Why do some parents chose not to help desperate children?
Why aren't business professionals unable to communicate?
Why am I tired like none other at 3 in the afternoon, yet able to stay up past 11 at night before going to bed?
Why are some people's fuses shorter then others?
I find it interesting that this very question is still one that my daughter is NOT able to put her mind around and verbalize any sort of answer. At 5.5 years old, she is in no way able to conceive this consept of WHY?
Why is your sister crying?
Why did you do that? (good or bad)
Why is the sky blue?
Any of those questions, she will litterally answer as follows:
Yes, yes my sister is crying.
Yes, yes I did that.
Yes, yes the sky is blue.
I find it very interesting that God's answer to this is the same. He knows the answers to why, because it is his plan for our lives! We may or may not always get/have/or know the answers to our questions, but the understanding that these circumstances are from God is a reality. God's answer to us is yes, yes that is the outcome. Yes, yes that is what is happening. Really is all that needs to be explained.
Much like being moms' and dads'... Because I said so, is a very valid answer. Maybe learning to accept that at such a young age was training/conditioning us to appreciate what God's purpose for our lives is and building us to appreciate that answer in our own circumstances.
We lost a dear friend a couple of weeks ago, and we have a candle light vigil for those here local to come and pay their respects. The day after her passing, there was a gorgeous rainbow. One of the few that you could see all the colors in, and all the way from one end to the other. It was a day where you knew it wanted to rain, but it hadn't yet. So this rainbow was odd but that much more beautiful! Within about 5 minutes, there was a wonderful rain. Sun was shinning bright and it was a full rain!
I had to question this. My Bible says the rainbow came after the storm, and would indicate the end of troubled times. Why did the rain come after that rainbow??
Just like our parents didn't always feel the need to explain why, our Heavenly father isn't always going to provide the reasons why. Doesn't make life easier but a common theme here. Since God's in the pilots seat we can find confidence and comfort in that!
